Becca Sigmund graduated from The University of Iowa in just three years with her BA in Dance and a minor in Theatre Arts. She has performed professionally with both ballet and modern dance companies, including Upstate NY Ballet Company (aka Syracuse City Ballet), San Diego Dance Theater, Ballet Theatre of Maryland, and Kinetics Dance Theatre’s Professional Company. She received her year-round training from both The Rock School West and Nolte Academy of Dance, and attended summer programs such as ABT, Joffrey Ballet, Malashock Dance, Nashville Ballet, and City Ballet of San Diego. She has trained extensively in all styles of dance including ballet, pointe, modern, lyrical, jazz, tap, musical theater and hip hop and has over 16 years of teaching experience at studios throughout Iowa, Pennsylvania, New York, Maryland and Texas. Becca is certified in teaching Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) and is currently the only instructor in the Dallas metroplex, and one of only two in the state of Texas, to hold a Level 3 certification, the highest certification in the program. Becca has been studying with Lisa Howell, physiotherapist for dancers, for three years and is certified in four of Lisa’s teacher training programs. Becca specializes in dance injury prevention, conditioning for dancers and safe flexibility techniques for both hypermobile and non-hypermobile bodies.

She now resides in Texas with her husband and two young boys and teaches throughout Dallas. In addition to directing Accelerate Dance & Fitness, Becca teaches at Chamberlain School of Ballet and teaches for the Professional Training Division at Texas Ballet Theater. She also served as Co-Director for the Youth Ballet Companies at Contemporary Ballet Dallas for three years prior to starting her own business.

Prior to moving to Texas, Becca was the School Director at Kinetics Dance Theatre, located in Ellicott City, Maryland. During the five years she served as School Director, the studio underwent two expansions and nearly doubled in student enrollment. Becca was able to successfully build a curriculum, train students for YAGP and have students go on to receive a full-ride scholarship to study dance at University of Maryland Baltimore College, an invitation and scholarship to study at Boston Ballet’s Pre-Professional Program, as well as acceptance into Fordham University’s and University of the Arts BFA Programs.
